I photographed this 8½x11 log book 28 March 2020. It had plenty of blank pages and was not disintegrating. I left it in Blue Mountain Shelter for further use.

32°, not enough vodka! Left of cabin down by the big rocks. At least kids pooped. Sunrise is beautiful.
11 November 2019 5 Hikers Summer, Autumn, Taylor, Will, Jesse   Overnight Pinhoti Trail
This was our 1st time backpacking. It felt way longer than a 2 mile hike. Especially since we were each carrying 30 lb bags. It was definately worth the long hike and the 1 wrong turn we made to the shelter. We loved it here and look forward to coming back.
14 November 2019 2 Hikers Barefoot Friar & Monkey   Many Pinhoti Trail
It has only taken us two years to make it this far since starting at the Flagg Mountain Shelter. Many a cold, windy night was spent in the woods, with lions and tigers (mice and possums) trying to eat us (███ bugs). Yet we press onward toward Georgia and a boring road walk. Rain is coming so we best get moving. 11am

We started at Adams Gap yesterday. This is our second night. This is all but 1 first time in a shelter. We are getting a fire started now and enjoying the night. Good thing about hiking before Thanksgiving is you can eat all you want!!!
26 November 2019 1 Hiker Will MQ, Justus S   Day Pinhoti Trail
The mountain came, the mountain men conquered. Flatlanders just don't get it. Lost a hat, shoe, and bottle.
Editor's Note: Let's hope it was three separate items, and not a combination, Swiss Army type device. My hiking shoes belong nowhere near my nose, and I certainly would not want to drink from them.
26 November 2019 2 Hikers Ocho & Sweeper   Many Pinhoti Trail
Started at Trammel Trailhead and will finish tomorrow at Highway 431. This completes the Alabama Portion of the Pinhoti for Ocho (12 years old). We took a little time and rebuilt the rock cairn and the fire ring. We have stayed here before and love this shelter.☺

I zero's here yesterday. It rained alllll day long and is still drizzling. If I can finish the Pinhoti by Christmas like I wanted to, it will mean 28 mile days from here on out. And since I am leaving at lunch right now, let's say it would be a Christmas Miracle. Met some real nice folks here yesterday.
